What Dahlia Source is

Dahlia Source is a guide to dahlias: variety information, growing resources, and stock alerts built from nurseries' public online shops. It's in preview, so features may change. Some pages show sample listings to preview upcoming features; they're labeled as samples and aren't real offers.

We don't sell tubers

Dahlia Source doesn't sell plants or take payments. When you buy from a nursery, you're dealing with that nursery under its own terms. We're not part of that purchase and aren't responsible for orders, payments, shipping, plant quality or refunds. Nurseries are independent businesses, and listing or linking to one isn't an endorsement.

Availability information

Stock and price information comes automatically from nurseries' own shops, checked every hour or so. It can be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and popular varieties often sell out within minutes. The nursery's own shop always has the final word, so check there before you rely on anything you see here.

Stock alerts

• Alerts are free while Dahlia Source is in preview.
• Alerts start only after you confirm your email address. Only sign up addresses that you own or are allowed to use.
• You can watch up to 50 varieties and nurseries. We may combine several changes into one email.
• We do our best to send alerts promptly, but we can't guarantee that every change is caught or that every email arrives on time, or at all. Spam filters, outages and changes to nurseries' shops can all get in the way.
• You can unsubscribe or delete your data at any time, from any alert email.
• We may change, pause or end alerts, and we may remove signups that look automated or abusive. If we ever offer paid features, we'll show their terms and price before you pay anything.

Variety and growing information

Variety details and growing advice are for general information. Where we give specifications, we cite their sources. Results in your garden depend on your climate, soil and care, and photos are illustrative unless they're labeled otherwise.

Using the site fairly

Please don't:

• use the site or alerts for anything unlawful;
• sign up email addresses that aren't yours, or use automated tools to sign up or to send heavy traffic to the site or its alert service;
• try to get around the site's security or interfere with how it works.

Other websites

The site and our emails link to nurseries and other websites we don't control. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you visit them.

Content and names

The site's text, design and compiled data belong to Dahlia Source. Nursery names, variety names and other trademarks belong to their owners, and mentioning them doesn't imply any connection or endorsement.

For nurseries

We read the product listings in nurseries' public online shops so gardeners know what's available, and our checks identify themselves as Dahlia Source. To correct your information or ask us to stop checking your shop, email hello@dahliasource.com.

No warranties

Dahlia Source is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises about the site's accuracy, availability or fitness for any particular purpose.

Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Dahlia Source isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as a variety you missed or a purchase from a nursery, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of what you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and if a change matters for alert subscribers we'll email them first. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms. You can stop using Dahlia Source at any time, and we may suspend access for anyone who misuses it.
