About Dahlia Source

Discover, Grow, and Share the World of Dahlias

We started Dahlia Source because we were tired of the scattershot experience of being a dahlia grower online. You'd find a variety name on Instagram, then spend 30 minutes hunting across five nursery websites for tuber availability. You'd want to know if 'Kelvin Floodlight' grows well in Zone 5, but the data was buried in a decade-old forum thread.

The community is one of the most passionate in all of gardening — but the information was fragmented.

So we built the single place where you can explore thousands of varieties with real photos and growing data, find nurseries that sell them, check seasonal availability, and connect with fellow growers. We built the tool we wished existed when we first fell down the dahlia rabbit hole — and we built it to be as beautiful as the flowers themselves.

    Our Values

    Enthusiastic

We gasp when we see a Café au Lait bloom — and we're not sorry about it. Every variety deserves the same wonder.

    Knowledgeable

Not 'dahlias like sun' but '6–8 hours of direct sunlight, zones 7–10, planted after last frost.' Specificity builds trust.

    Generous

Open data, free directory, community contributions welcomed. We exist to share, not to gatekeep.

    Rooted

Built by growers who happen to build software. Every feature exists because a dahlia grower asked for it.
